Wire Frame -1900 thru 1920’s with Jane Smith

Using millinery wire and lace or sheer fabric, you will create at least one Edwardian/Teens/1920;s hat simioar to hats seen in the movies “Cheri”, “Titanic”, Howard’s End” and “Enchanted April”. The workshop includes your supplies for 2 wire framed hats covered with silk organza or lace and lunch each day. You may also bring 2 yards of an outer fabric of your choice. A basic sewing kit will be needed. (shears, pins, tape measure, thimble, tailor’s chalk)

Using both fur felt and straw hoods, you will block on our wooden hat blocks two hats suitable for the the1920’s thru the 1950’s. Period hand finishing along with wiring techniques and a variety of decorating methods will be taught.
