This advanced millinery course will provide you with an introduction to designing and making millinery hat blocks. We’ll show you how to achieve balance in your design by studying creations of important milliners and we’ll then help you design your own shape of hat. By the end of the course you’ll have produced a crown and brim block plus a small independent shape which can be used to block a small headpiece or trimming. You should come to the course with ideas of the types of blocks you’d like to create. To get the most out of this course you should be able to hand sew with a thimble and you should have experience to the equivalent of our ‘Millinery 2’ course.
