The Workshop:

• Techniques of dying raffia

• Plaiting raffia

• Hand sewing raffia over a wooden or polyurethane hat block (bring your own block if you prefer a certain shape)

• Finishing techniques for the inside of the hat with a Petersham Ribbon (Lining Optional)

• All materials and equipment are provided and included in the fee, although students are welcome to bring their own sewing kit if they would like to.• A half hour is given for lunch

.• The goal is to take home a finished hat
