Create your own small Fascinator-Introduction to using Foss Shape. This class looks at using thermal foss shape material and creating a small fascinator base.
Foss shape is a thermal material that can be used to create shapes, which can then be wired, covered and finished with fabric.
In this short but fun workshop you will use a dolly head( provided to use) and a small iron (provided) shape a piece of foss shape to the head. You can free form the shape of the foss shape, with help and suggestions about which shapes work best.
Once shaped, you will hand wire the edge and then finish the underside and top side of the piece with fabric. A selection of some fabric options from our wide collection of vintage and silk and laces are included in your millinery kit. Ideas about how to drape and finish the fabric are also provided in this lesson. Once the fabric base is finished we then look at trims and beading ideas.
A basic set of materials including the foss shape, bias tape, drawing paper, wire, headband, threads, wire and fabric options are included in your millinery kit. You of course have the option to bring additional fabric options, trims etc to trim your shaped mini millinery fascinator, as well as your own sewing kit.
Each class is limited to 3 participants.
