Virtual Demonstration – Bias Brims with Jenny Roberts

This demo is aimed at:

• Those wanting to explore a different brim technique which you don’t need to have a brim block for . This is an advanced demo and students need to be experienced with sinamay to execute the techniques from the demo.

The demo will involve:

• Learning how to create a bias brim, a technique which works well with waffle and plain sinamay and enables you to block difficult shapes as well as creating brims using less material.
• Different hats designs will be explored using this technique including blocking the brim, creating headpieces and trims as well as a basic brim which you don’t need a brim block for.

Demo outcomes:

• Techniques to create a bias brim
• Techniques to create a bias brim headpiece
• Technique to create a bris trim
• The knowledge to create more and lots of inspiration to use this technique in your designs.

Course Timings

This demo will take place over the 2 hours and is DEMO only you will not be sewing along.   Please note the recording will be available for you for 3 months after the course should you not be able to attend the live session or if you would like to re-visit the techniques but stopping and starting the demo which will help you execute the techniques in your own time.
