About Me
Audrey Doherty studied Millinery at Kensington & Chelsea College, London under Kristen Scott and visiting tutors such as Rachel Skinner, Andrew Bristow, Caroline Morris, Julie Rook and Jane Smith, as well as Jane’s Summer Theatrical Millinery courses. Audrey’s first Millinery teacher was Chloe Belcham, whose methods and techniques were strictly traditional.
Until 2010 Audrey ran her business from Hampstead Antique & Craft Emporium designing and making for private clients and high-end bridal salons and boutiques, running group and one-to-one Millinery and Silk Flower making workshops and demonstrations and undertaking theatrical millinery commissions. Some of Audrey’s more quirky commissions include designing fabric covers for the British Masters Golf Tournament 2006, repairing antique textiles and re-creating model Jordan’s wedding tiara for the Little Britain photo shoot in Heat Magazine Christmas 2005 issue. The tiara was used again in OK Magazine and Channel 4’s ‘Star Stories’ in 2008. She currently resides in Derry City, Northern Ireland where she continues to teach workshops and design for private clients, brides and theatre.
