About Me
It all started around a hundred years ago in Tuscany, Italy, when the Bertacchi family became milliners. Today with Adi Bertacchi, the third generation, the family business has grown, and they are present in Canada and Italy.
On average, Bertacchi family designs 500 hats every year, covering a wide variety of women’s and men’s styles. Many of their hats have been featured in movies and TV shows like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina; The Man in the High Castle; The Good Doctor; The Philosophy of Phil; and Bad Times at the El Royale, among others. Recently, they collaborated with costume designer Barbara Gregusova to make a headpiece for the actress portraying Meghan Markle in the movie Escaping the Palace.
Adi embodies the Italian artisan legacy and the hat crafters tradition of Tuscan, all Bertacchi’s hats are inspired by classic ’40s and ’50s Italian fashion.
Adi opened the first atelier in Vancouver, Gastown, in 2015 and he has been sharing all his hat-making family secrets in two courses: basic and advance level. During each course you will have 5 live lessons with Adi in the Vancouver atelier. You can book your lesson at your convenience. You will bring home not only an immersive Tuscan experience but a unique handmade hat!
