About Me
Dawn Edwards is a felt-maker/fiber artist specializing in fun, out-of-the ordinary felt hats. She lives and works from her home studio in Plainwell, Michigan, USA, and sells her work under the name of Felt So Right. Dawn’s hats are often noted for their unique style, sculptural aspects and technique.
Dawn teaches felt hat-making both within the U.S. and abroad and states that, ‘Feltmaking has truly opened windows to the world for me and I am grateful for this most wonderful opportunity.’
Dawn’s felt works/articles have appeared in the book, ’1000 Artisan Textiles’, the International Feltmakers Association Journal ‘Felt Matters’, fiber magazine ‘Fiber Art Now’, and the Russian felt magazine ‘Felt Fashion’.
Dawn recently won the Mad Hatter’s Society Third Annual Hatmaking Competition (2014) for her nuno-felted/beaded felt hat, judged by Couture Milliner, Arturo Rios.
Dawn is a member of the International Feltmakers Association, Surface Design Association, Handweavers Guild of America, Michigan League of Handweavers, juried artist member of the Signature Artists Cooperative, as well as numerous gallery shops.
