Create a Felt Hat with Georgina Abbott – weekly

Course description:
On this 4 week course learn how to make a handmade felt hat perfect for any occasion. Discover the versatility of felt as a material and learn the fundamental techniques of blocking, shaping and finishing to bring your hat design to life. Our experienced lecturer will guide you through the traditional millinery method of hat making.

Under the tutelage of our experienced lecturer, you will embark on a journey of creativity and skill-building. From selecting the perfect felt to mastering the art of steaming and shaping, each class is designed to deepen your understanding and refine your craftsmanship.
With hands-on demonstrations and personalised instruction from our experience lecturer, you will learn to navigate the intricacies of hat construction, from creating a sturdy crown to blocking and finishing a suitable brim.

Who is this workshop for?
This class is suitable for all levels. Basic hand sewing knowledge is helpful.

Do I need to bring anything?
Nothing at all, just your creativity. We will provide all the materials and equipment needed.
